Welcome to Sarah’s Signology Club
An informal space for lovers of BSL
We are a not for profit club offering practice and exam preparation sessions for both hearing and D/deaf people who wish to learn or improve their knowledge of BSL - British Sign Language - in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
We also provide advice and information for those who wish to understand more about the Deaf community and deaf awareness, and bespoke 1:1 tuition sessions as well as BSL exam practice.
Interested in learning or improving your BSL?
If you've ever wanted to learn BSL (British Sign Language) or if you'd like to improve your current BSL knowledge then we’d love you to join us.
Sarah’s Signology Club, created by Flo Rogers is an informal BSL practice group which meets every Monday during term time between 7.30pm - 9.30pm at the William Camden Pub, Avenue Road, Bexleyheath opposite Bexleyheath train station. It doesn’t matter what, if any, signing ability you have everyone is welcome. Our members range from absolute beginners up to BSLi (interpreter) level.
It’s one thing to learn a new language, but it’s something else entirely to have the resources, the space and the people to practice it with. So, with this in mind, Sarah’s Signology Club was born with a clear mission: To bring access to Sign Language to as many people as possible in an attempt to bridge the gap between the hearing and Deaf communities.
If you'd like to know more, please feel free to pop along to our group for a free taster session, pop us a message or follow us on Facebook TikTok or Instagram. You can also get in touch using the contact form below.
Learning British Sign Language (BSL) - even just basic finger spelling - opens up a world of connection, inclusion, and understanding. It’s more than just a skill - it’s a bridge between communities.
By learning BSL hearing people can make everyday spaces more welcoming and accessible for Deaf people and sign language users, helping to break down barriers that too often lead to isolation or exclusion.
BSL is a rich, expressive language with its own grammar, rhythm, and culture. Learning it encourages empathy, deepens awareness, and reminds us that communication is about more than words, it’s about connection.
Whether used in professional settings or simple daily interactions, signing shows respect, equality, and a genuine desire to meet others where they are.
